5 Easy tips to create your perfect university bedroom

When it comes to university, decorating our room is something that most of us are probably very excited about. We all want to create a cute, cosy space where we can feel comfortable and at home. Regardless of your taste, here are a few things that you can do to make your room look comfy and chic.
1. FAIRY LIGHTS
This is probably the most obvious decorative object that you could add to your room but it’s also one of the most effective ones, as it creates a warm and cosy atmosphere. There’s nothing better than switching on your fairy lights while you are comfortably relaxing in bed.
2. FILL UP THE WALLS

Nothing makes me sadder than a bare, white wall. The best way to add colour and personality to your room is to hang posters, paintings, or pictures. You could make a collage, print motivational quotes, or you could even cut out butterflies and stick them on the wall as if they were flying towards the ceiling. This will inject your room with a sense of identity and positive vibes.
3. ADD A TOUCH OF SOFTNESS

It can be pillows, a fluffy blanket, or a cute rug. If you want to give your room a comfy feel, spread softness all over the place. If you find yourself missing your parents hugs, these fluffy objects will do the trick. They also help to create a mentally relaxing environment; useful for when university gets stressful.

Something I noticed when I first started to decorate my room, is that I had many small objects which made my room look messy and unorganised when I displayed them on my shelf. Metal storage baskets are trendy, inexpensive, and very practical as you don’t have to keep removing the lid.
5. DON’T OVERDO IT
Although the aforementioned tips will significantly help you to improve the aesthetic of your room, you don’t want to overdo it. Completely covering your wall in pictures, for example can make your room look messy and smaller. It’s okay to leave some blank areas, you’ll save on the Blu Tack.
