[endif]-- The Batman will star Robert Pattinson. From acting in the Twilight saga to movies like Good-Time and The Lighthouse, I think it’s fair to say Pattinson has proved himself as an actor worthy of the cowl. And where Bruce Wayne goes, Alfred follows. Confirmed on the 13th, Andy Serkis is set to play the loyal butler. Having already played Ulysses Klaue in the MCU, this is the second iconic comic book character the actor shall play. After seeing him as Gollum in Lord of the Rings and Caesar in the Apes Trilogy, people are pretty excited to see his rendition of the character.

Pattinson’s Batman will be joined by Catwoman, played by Zoë Kravitz. This will be the second time the actress portrays the character, following her role in The Lego Batman Movie. In addition to being in films like Divergent and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them the well-established actress has appeared in two other comic book movies, as Mary Jane Watson in Spider-man: Into the Spiderverse and Angel Salvadore in X-Men: First Class.

No Batman movie would be complete without everyone’s favorite police commissioner. Jim Gordon has been confirmed to be played by Jeffrey Wright who made an appearance in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and has also starred in the drama, O.G. .

Rumoured to be taking inspiration from the comic Batman: The long Halloween, the movie is reportedly featuring multiple members of the Rogues Gallery. Possibly most exciting is the confirmed appearance of a character we haven’t seen on the big screen since Batman Forever in 1995. The Riddler shall be played by Paul Dano. Dano acted alongside Daniel Radcliffe in the strange and amazing Swiss Army Man and has been in movies like Prisoners and Little Miss Sunshine.

There is chatter all over the net that the Riddler shall be joined by the infamous Oswald Cobblepot, better known as: The Penguin. It is rumored that Colin Farrell is in talks to play the DC supervillain which is a very interesting choice. Will they pull a Danny DeVito and dress Farrell up as a terrifying sewer monster or, will they move in the Telltale direction and have him looking like a smooth criminal. Only time will tell.

The Boy Wonder

[endif]-- Some familiar faces have expressed interest in playing Batman’s trusty side kick. In an interview following the release of his movie The King, Timothée Chalamet told reporters he was very excited about the new Batman film and not “averse to those universes.” As well as Chalamet, Umbrella Academy’s Aidan Gallagher has expressed interest in taking the role, posting fan art of him as Robin on his Instagram page. All the way back in 2016, Titan’s star Ryan Potter went so far as releasing a Tim Drake concept fight featuring him kicking a** with a bo- staff. Without confirmation that Robin is even in the film, who knows who will helm the role. Maybe Brenton Thwaites will continue wearing his red and green suit? Regardless, I’m excited about the prospect of seeing the brightly colored boy wonder next to the Bat of Gotham. ![endif]--![endif]--![endif]--![endif]--![endif]--![endif]--![endif]--![endif]--![endif]--
