Autumn Term Kent Global Hangout

Gharam Al-Zubi 22 November 2021

On Tuesday 23 November, the university will be hosting its first Autumn Term, Global Hangout for this year. This is a fun and informal event for students to meet each other, as well as staff, including the Dean for Internationalisation, Dr Anthony Manning.

The event is set to take place in the Colyer Fergusson Foyer, next to the Gulbenkian Cafe, from 1:00 till 2:30 pm. The event is an ideal place to socialize, make new friends and engage with games and activities organized by other Kent students.

Cake and tea will be provided throughout the entire even. Interactive activities will take place, including writing postcards to send home to loved ones, performances, creating friendship bracelets and conversing with students whose zodiac signs are compatible with each other. Several other activities will be taking place simultaneously, to ensure that the event caters to all students.

Not only will students be able to make new friends, but this event is an ideal place for international students to feel at home and for other students to learn about different cultures and backgrounds.

Dr Anthony Manning said: ‘Our Global Hangouts and Web Hangouts are a great opportunity for home and international students from different cultures to meet, socialise and share experiences across our global community.

‘This year we will be running a mix of online and face-to-face events, led by the students from our Global Officers Leadership Development Programme. We’re looking forward to welcoming you!’

Students can expect other Hangouts later this term, such as The Hannukah Kent Global Web-Hangout which is set to take place virtually on the second of December. The Christmas Kent Global Web-Hangout is also taking place virtually but on the eighth of December. Students can book a spot by visiting the University of Kent events calendar.

Students that are interested in attending Tuesday’s In-person Global Hangout, are encouraged to fill out this form or just simply show up.
